Product Description
The Monarchy Audio VFCar Voltage and Frequency Converting AC Regenerator is specially sold and marketed by MSS HiFi only for our legion of international shoppers.
The VFCar accepts 220-240V, 50-60Hz AC input and can be configured to output 110-120V in 1V step and 50-60Hz AC, or 220-240V in 2V step and 50-60Hz AC. This is very important because a lot of popular brands like Krell, Mark Levinson, Martin Logan, VPI etc. that are sold in North America works on 60Hz AC input only, they will not power up at 50Hz. This is also true for a lot of synchronous turntable motors.
On top of this special purpose, this AC regenerator regenerates totally stable and clean AC that is sure to improve the sound of your audio and video equipment. It has two outlets and it is rated up to 100W, more than enough power for the critical digital sources, preamps, processors, turntables etc. It is not for use with power amplifiers. Power amplifiers should be plugged directly into the wall instead.
Recommended usage:
1) when you buy electronics from the USA that work on 60Hz only but the voltage can be set of 220-240V, you should always set them to 220-240V because audio equipment tends to sound better with better long-term reliability with 220-240V AC input. So set them to 220-240V and also set your Monarchy Audio VFCar to 220-240V and 60Hz AC output, then plug your equipment into the VFCar.
2) when you buy electronics from the USA that works on 60Hz *and* 120V only, then you have no choice but to leave it at 120V, so your will have to set your Monarchy Audio VFCar to 120V and 60Hz AC output, then plug your equipment into the VFCar .
Therefore, most people need two VFCars - one set at 120V/60Hz AC output and one set at 230V/60Hz AC output.
If you don't need to convert voltage and frequency right now, you should buy one anyway for future needs. In the meantime, you can set it at 230V and 50Hz AC output for use with your current digital sources, LED TV, preamps, processors, turntables etc. You will definitely notice an improvement.
