MSS Hifi Sales and Return Policies
Buyer acknowledges these classifications of merchandise that MSS HiFi, Inc. carries: MSS HiFi, Inc. authorized stock items: these are in-stock new and unopened, or demo equipment of a brand that MSS HiFi, Inc. is authorized by the manufacturer to represent. Other equipment: these include all merchandise that MSS HiFi, Inc. is not authorized by the manufacturer to represent, pre-owned and special order items. Any merchandise that MSS HiFi, Inc. does not generally keep in stock, or specifically ordered for a customer is considered special order.
All sales are subject to the following conditions:
- Loss or damage in transit:
MSS HiFi, Inc. is not responsible for loss and/or damage that happened to any merchandise while being transported by a commercial carrier, or when the transportation is arranged by the customer, which includes the customer’s own vehicle, moving company or shipping company hired by the customer. In the event that an item is lost or damaged during shipping, MSS HiFi, Inc. will attempt to file a claim with the carrier to reimburse the customer. All items shipped by MSS HiFi, Inc. will be declared up to the replacement or actual purchase value. If a lower declared value is requested, the customer agrees that doing so will relieve MSS HiFi, Inc. of all responsibilities in regards to loss or damage of the merchandise in transit. - Defective goods:
MSS HiFi, Inc. authorized stock items: In this category, MSS HiFi, Inc. will exchange any new and unopened merchandise that proves defective out of the box within 14 days of sale if the merchandise is currently in production (not discontinued). For all other components, MSS HiFi, Inc. agrees to arrange warranty service within the factory warranty period. All warranties not specifically or expressly given or stated by the manufacturer are excluded. Other equipment: All defects must be reported within 3 days of receipt of goods. If an item is proven defective within 3 days of receipt, MSS HiFi, Inc. agrees to issue a full refund (minus shipping costs), or arrange for qualified repair of said defective merchandise. - Return policy:
MSS HiFi, Inc. authorized stock items: Buyer acknowledges that MSS HiFi, Inc. does not accept return of any new and unopened merchandise that has been opened, used, or damaged. New and unopened merchandise and demo equipment can be returned within 30 days for store credit or a cash refund. In the event of a cash refund, MSS HiFi, Inc. will charge a restocking fee equal to 15% of the purchase price.
Other equipment: All sales are final. Please see our defective goods policy above. - Buy back: since one of MSS HiFi, Inc.’s specialties is in pre-owned equipment, customers are encouraged to submit for buy quotes on all items purchased from MSS HiFi, Inc. that are not eligible for return or refund. In some circumstances, MSS HiFi, Inc. can provide a buy back quote on an item even before an actual purchase.
Additional conditions:
Shipping charges: MSS HiFi, Inc. is not responsible for shipping charges under any circumstances. If a component needs to be returned to the factory for service under warranty, the customer is liable for all shipping charges that would incur. However, MSS HiFi, Inc. will strive to minimize those charges.
